Original Guns n’ Roses guitarist Slash has revealed that after nearly a 20 year dissension, him and lead singer Axl Rose are once again friends. Naturally, upon the release of this information everyone’s minds were drawn to the thought of a reunion tour. The Pulse of Radio reports that a club owner in Australia has received some direction pointing towards a possible reunion- however nothing has been confirmed yet. The owner, James Young, told Triple M Radio that a “very well-informed heavy hitter in the Australian music industry” gave him the name of the headliner for the Soundwave music festival next year. Of course, he couldn’t release who it was- but we all know who everyone wants it to be.
As ideal as a reunion tour may be, it isn’t 100% guaranteed. Although Slash has mentioned many times that he would be open to a tour (because the fans deserve it), this situation is very similar to when Skid Row needed a new singer upon the leave of Johnny Solinger. Fans hoped that it was time to bring Sebastian Bach back into the band- but as we all know Solinger was replaced by current singer Tony Harnell.
Guns n’ Roses recently had two guitarists, DJ Ashba and Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal, withdraw from the band- so this leaves the fans wondering if now is the time for a reunion. The circumstances all line up pretty well, meaning that if there we were to see the original line up take the stage again, now would be the time. The only thing left for fans to do is wait and hope that Guns n’ Roses will return with a vengeance.
