Hellfest: French rock and metal festival Hellfest announces its 2017 lineup, with Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Prophets of Rage and Slayer among the headlining acts. Other acts include Steel Panther, Suicidal Tendencies, Obituary and Saxon, alongside numerous other performers. Although featured on the flyer, W.A.S.P will not be performing and instead Twisted Sister front man Dee Snider will be performing in their place. The festival is set to take place June 16, 17 and 18 of 2017.
Chicago Open Air: The second edition of rock and metal festival Chicago Open Air is set to take place July 14, 15 and 16 of 2017 in Bridgeview, Illinois. This festival features food, beer and most importantly musical and has over 40 performances planned. Headliners include KISS, Korn and Ozzy Osbourne- while bands like Anthrax, Rob Zombie, Body Count and Stone Sour are among the other acts appearing at the three day long festival.
Rock USA: The 2017 edition of Rock USA in Oshkosh, Wisconsin includes headliners Ozzy Osbourne, Avenged Sevenfold and Slayer- while Volbeat, The Pretty Reckless and Megadeth also appear on the bill alongside numerous other acts. A relatively new ‘pit’ section is also being featured at this years’ festival, allowing the fans to be closer to the bands while performing than ever before. Kicking off July 13 and spanning July 14 and 15, Rock USA features camping and multiple food and alcohol options.
Gefle Metal Festival: The second edition of the Gefle Metal Festival will take place July 14 and 15 in Gävle, Sweden. This festival features three stages- two outdoor and one indoor. The two day long metal festival features Amon Amarth, Opeth, Arch Enemy and Testament as the event’s heavy hitters. Sodom, Death Angel and Paradise Lost, among others, are also on the bill.
Alcatraz Hard Rock & Metal Festival: 2017 marks the 10th anniversary edition of the Alcatraz Hard Rock & Metal Festival in Kortrijk, Belgium. Taking place August 11, 12 and 13, this festival features 35 bands and two stages. Friday night is penned as ‘heavy metal night’, having Krokus and Dirkschneider highlighted as the evenings top performers. The remainder of the festival includes acts such as Amon Amarth, Iced Earth, Doro, UFO and many others.
Download: The UK’s premier rock festival is set to take place June 9, 10 and 11 in Donington Park. Day 1 features System of a Down, Five Finger Death Punch and Mastodon; Day 2 features A Day To Remember, Biffy Clyro and Pierce The Veil; Day 3 features Aerosmith, Alter Bridge and Steel Panther- among the numerous other bands performing on the multiple stages over the three day period.
Rockfest XVII: In its 24th year, Rockfest XVII in Cadott, Wisconsin is a three day long festival beginning Thursday July 13 and spans until Saturday July 15. This festival features a bonus bash on Wednesday July 12 for three day ticket holders only with performers such as Jack Russell’s Great White, RATT and Faster Pussycat among others. The headliners for the remaining three days include Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold, Insane Clown Posse, Cinderella’s Tom Keifer, Rob Zombie and Hellyeah.
Louder Than Life: Ozzy Osbourne, Prophets of Rage, Rob Zombie and Incubus top this year’s Louder Than Life bill. Taking place in Louisville, Kentucky on September 30 and October 1, this festival features a alcohol and food as a main focus aside from live music- attempting to share and display all that Louisville has to offer. Other acts performing during the two day long excursion include Halestorm, Steel Panther, Gojira, Lacuna Coil and a myriad of others.
High Elevation Rock Festival: In Denver, Colorado, the High Elevation Rock Festival is set to take place September 22 and 23 at Fiddler’s Green Ampitheatre. Headlining this two day festival is Five Finger Death Punch and Korn. This festival also features an additional 20+ bands over two stages, including A Day To Remember, Stone Sour, Black Veil Brides and Steel Panther.
Metal Maya: Hosted by Jose Mangin at the Now Sapphire Rivera Maya resort just minutes south of Cancun, this ‘destination vacation’ and ‘VIP rock star experience’ spans from October 29 to November 2. Attendee’s of this luxurious four day excursion will have the chance to mingle with members of Overkill, Anthrax, Metal Allegiance and more while they participate in daily events and activities.
Rock Allegiance: The third annual Monster Energy powered Rock Allegiance Festival is set to occur Saturday October 7 at the BB&T Pavilion and Wiggins Waterfront Park in Camden, New Jersey. Only spanning one day long, this festival has three stages and features a full daily lineup of Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Marilyn Manson, Halestorm, Mastodon, Gojira, In This Moment, Steel Panther, August Burns Red, Beartooth, Starset, Radkey, Bleeker, Badflower, DED, While She Sleeps, Black Map, Greta Van Fleet, He Is Legend, Biters, Them Evils and even more to be announced. Food and beer is a main feature of this festival, and there are band meet and greet and signing opportunities for fans to enjoy throughout the day.
Hair Metal Heaven: Shaping up as what appears to be one of the best hair metal festivals yet, Hair Metal Heaven in Hull is three days and 26 bands worth of your favorite glam bands, both old and new. The festival kicks off Friday August 25 at O’Riley’s with 9 performances including Crazy Lixx, Babylon A.D and Hardline playing their hit album ‘Double Eclipse’ in full. Saturday August 26 features House of Lords, Vain, Danger Danger and TNT as the headlining act. The final day, Sunday August 27, opens with Diemonds and subsequently features Wildside, Reckless Love, Loudness among many others. The ‘Rock n Hull Allstars’ is the headlining act for the final night- a super group featuring Sebastian Bach, Michael Devin, Brent Woods, Vinny Appice and George Lynch plus unannounced special guests.
Loud-N-Lima: The biggest hair metal festival to ever hit Lima, Ohio is coming this July 21, 22 and 23. Originally only two days long, the festival has added a bonus third day to round out the weekend (free of charge to ticket holders). Featuring some of the biggest names in rock ranging from 3 Doors Down to Dee Snider, this three day rock weekend complete with camping, food and fun is a must attend for any 80’s rock fan.
80’s In The Park: This 3 day 80’s weekend includes acts such as Ted Poley, Phil Lewis, Winger, Lynch Mob and more. Taking place at the International Palms Resort in Cocoa Beach, Florida on September 22, 23 and 24, you are given the opportunity to stay at the same hotel as the members of your favorite bands and mingle until the sun comes up. This festival also offers a convention with vendors and panels all weekend long.
